How to Make Jambalaya – A Flavor-Packed One-Pot Recipe

Jambalaya is a bold and hearty Creole dish from Louisiana, blending spices, rice, meat, and seafood.

To make it, heat oil in a large pot and sauté diced onions, bell peppers, and celery (the “holy trinity”). Add garlic, chopped tomatoes, and your choice of proteins—typically smoked sausage (like andouille), chicken, and shrimp.

Season generously with paprika, cayenne, thyme, oregano, and a dash of hot sauce. Stir in uncooked long-grain rice, then pour in chicken broth.

Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer covered for about 20–25 minutes, until the rice is tender and has soaked up all the flavor. Add shrimp in the last 5 minutes of cooking to avoid overcooking.

Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot! Jambalaya is a comforting, spicy, and satisfying one-pot meal perfect for family dinners or gatherings. Adjust spice levels to your taste and enjoy!
