Beef Tips Recipe
Smothered beef tips are a comforting, hearty dish that's surprisingly easy to make. Start with 1–2 pounds of beef stew meat or sirloin tips.
Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Brown the beef in a hot skillet with oil to lock in flavor. Remove the beef and sauté chopped onions and garlic in the same pan. Stir in 2 tablespoons of flour to make a light roux, then slowly add 2 cups of beef broth, whisking until smooth.
Return the beef to the skillet, cover, and simmer on low for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the meat is tender. For added flavor, mix in Worcestershire sauce or a splash of red wine.
Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. This one-pan recipe is perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner with minimal effort.
